Robots: Mind or Machine?
Wednesday 23 February 2022 at 18.00 GMT Online - REGISTER
It is anticipated that over the next 10 years robots and artificial intelligence systems will become ubiquitous in our homes, schools, hospitals, and care-homes. To make sense of these robots, the first instinct of many users is to treat them as if they have human-like thoughts and feelings. Dr Nathalia Gjersoe from the Department of Psychology explores the positive and negative consequences of this response, and describes the work she has been doing with We The Curious Science museum to explore this phenomenon in young children. This lecture will take place online via Zoom. You can join the live online lecture between 6pm and 7pm GMT on Wednesday 23 February 2022 by registering via Eventbrite. We will email you a link before the event allowing you to view the lecture via Zoom - no account is required.
