Join our Eco-Tutor to help create a personal plan to reduce bills and carbon pollution in your home.

 1. Intros – what have you done so far and what would you like to do.

 2. Complete a short questionnaire of this with actions and their bill / carbon saving potential. Looking at how much you are already saving and how much you could save.

 3. What costs money and carbon in the home:

- Gas versus electricity and using smart meter

- What time of day to costs most on bills and carbon

- Biggest culprits for energy use

 

4. Your plan

- Where heat escapes

- Low-cost measures for Windows/Draughts/Ventilation/Insulation and paybacks

- Landlord responsibility 

- Grants (see if Housing Services will come for 15m to present)

- Cooking

- Energy vampires. Paybacks e.g. for LED lights

 5. Writing to government – what should they be doing?

 

This course is free to anyone over the age of 19 who is a resident of BANES with proof of settlement status if relevant, not currently in work or earning under £19,305 per year.
