We are looking for workplaces to take part in our electric bike 'Ride to Work Scheme' this summer

We are all well aware of the current energy and climate change crises - are you contributing to them, and indirectly funding the war in Ukraine by commuting to work by car, and do you want to do something about it?

Transition Bath's free electric bike 'Ride to Work' scheme is due to relaunch for the summer in April.

The Ride to Work by Bike project (www.ridetowork.bike) aims to encourage commuters in Bath to switch to cycling to work in preference to commuting short distances by car. The focus of this initiative is electric bikes (e-bikes) which reduce the barriers to people who are put off cycling by Bath’s hilly terrain, or consider themselves too unfit – or too old even – to commute by bicycle.

We loan our e-bikes to you for 6 weeks. Comprehensive support will be given to help participants fully experience the benefits of cycling to work, and maximise the chances of them making the switch permanent, including support for purchasing bikes via the Cycle to Work Scheme (£10/week), and cycle training if needed.

The objectives of this project are to:
• Reduce pollution, congestion and carbon emissions
• Reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and the regimes that produce them
• Improve participants’ health
• Prove that small-scale, low-cost sustainable transport schemes can be successful and cost-effective
Feedback from participants of the scheme has always been incredibly positive and many have gone on to purchase e-bikes, reducing dependence on their cars including dispensing with second cars.

If you think you think you might be interested in this free scheme and want to make a positive difference to the planet, please get in contact with us info@ridetowork.bike
